Wood Brothers Racing now have full control of their charter

Wood Brothers Racing have sole control over the charter.

Wood Brothers Racing is a team with so much history and prestige in the sport of NASCAR and today they made a decision that will cement their place in the sport for the foreseeable future. The team has announced in a tweet released earlier today that they will be taking full control of their charter.

When the charter system started in 2015, Wood Brothers were one of the teams that were left charterless as they were not full-time competitors the year before. After seasons of being charterless, their fortune turned as they started a partnership in 2018 with Archie St. Hilaire, owner of Go Fas Racing. The official company name for this charter was GGRWB, LLC. This stands for Go Green Racing which was Go Fas previous name and the WB was for the Wood Brothers.

This long term partnership ensured that the no.21 would be a mainstay in the field for the next three years. As Go Fas Racing has been taken over by BJ Mcleod and Matt Tifft, the team has acquired another charter. With St. Hilaire leaving out of the sport there was no reason for Wood Brothers Racing to still be leasing their charter from them and they decided to buy out the rest of that charter and make it their own.
