Vulnerability

Just seeing this word makes my skin crawl just a little bit. It’s a word that is so deeply rooted in so many aspects of life that we don’t even realize it. Whether it is at work, relationships — or choosing to start a blog about the TRAGEDY that is the dating world — there is always a little bit of risk. But high risk, high reward amirite?

I guess I should introduce myself. I’m choosing to keep this as anonymous as possible, but I’m R, 23 years old and living in Toronto. OH and happen to be single as fuck. Part of me knows this is my own doing. What girl in their right mind consistently hangs out with guys (who are tallish and good lookingish) and then expects OTHER guys to come and talk/pick her up? Me, right? Crazy. When will I learn?

My whole life I’ve had girlfriends. I always liked dresses, heels, nails, overpriced pillows, and the *typical* girly shit. But about three years ago, I met three guys who someone made me become “one of the bOyS”…which if you know me (and you will shortly), you know that I’d never actually be Just one of the boys.

I was in my second last year of university and I somehow had best friends who were guys. And I spent/spend every waking moment with them. Every weekend we would just party, drink, laugh, adventure and do the stupidest things together, but I love every second of it.

But this isn’t about them. The boys are my best friends, but I’m here to talk about boys in general. Dating, hookups, break ups and just overall TRASH men — you’ve come to the right place. This isn’t supposed to be a place of negativity either, because believe it or not, I have learnt so much from the boys and my own experiences, and I want to share the dirty details with my fellow ladies so you can truly understand the insides and outs of how men think! Take everything I say with a grain of salt though, as I said, these are just my experiences.

So there you have it, this is me being vulnerable. I am going to write one story a week — starting from the very, VERY beginning of this girl’s dating life. Stay tuned.
