Deploy a New Virtual Server in Vultr and How to Use SSH to Connect to Remote Server

In this article we are going to learn how we can create virtual server in vultr.com and how we can use SSH to connect to remote server.

After login you will get screen like below:

Click on “+” sign -> click on “Deploy New Server”.

You can choose server “Cloud Compute” or “High Frequency”. I am selecting “High Frequency”

You can choose any server location, i am selecting New York server.

Select server type -> Select “64 bit OS” -> Select “Ubuntu 20.10 x64”.

You choose server according to your requirement. I am selecting 1CPU/2048MB Memory/2000GB Bandwidth.

According to your requirement you can select addition features. I am selecting only “Enable IPv6”.

We can skip “Startup Script” and “SSH Keys”, rightnow it is not required.

Enter “Server Hostname & Label” according to your choice. In this example i am using Server Hostname -> xv-jupyterhub-server.

Click on “Deploy Now”. Next screen will show like below:

It will take few seconds to install server, then click on server instance.

Next screen will show like below. You need to make a note of IP address, username and password. We need these details when we will connect to server.

We have deployed a new server. Now we need to connect to server.

Open command prompt as administrator in your local system and type according to :

It will ask “Are you sure you want to continue connecting” -> type “yes” -> then press enter -> It will ask password, you need to copy from server details and paste.

After entering the password, we have connected to server successfully.
