Chapter 2

Y’all, I looked at my GitHub the other day and 😳 😳 😳

Let me explain.

About three weeks ago I put my hat in for a position with a company I really wanted to work for. I applied for a .NET job thinking “I’ll never hear from these people” because it’s a large government contractor. They must receive thousands of applications a day.

Then, a couple days later a recruiter responded to my application and wanted to chat about some junior developer positions they were about to post. There was a code challenge, then the next week I had a Skype interview. I traveled to their office the next week for a 2.5-hour in-person interview (it was as exhausting as it sounds).

Whoa.

We then went to Orlando for a much needed getaway. Since our return I have been feverishly cleaning things out and getting ready to move and sell our house.

Life has been crazy but I wouldn’t trade these busy days for anything — even though they haven’t involved much (ok, any) programming. I am blessed beyond measure and over the moon with excitement.

Live bravely. Do scary things.
